Bella Hair Salon | Continued Education | Shop Local | Eastern North Carolina

I had the honor of documenting an educational event at Bella Hair Salon. It makes me so happy that this is “my” salon…ya know, the one I go to and get my curly locks cared for!! These are some of the most talented and educated stylists in Jacksonville, NC. They are always learning and growing, which when it come to being current in the cuts, colors, and styles, means that they are on the top of their game at all times! They take time to learn about the new techniques and practice them on models and mannequins, to ensure that your hair is getting top quality work done to it! I don’t know about you, but that puts my heart at ease.

Today they were learning about the newest color line and cuts by TIGI. They had two lovely educators, one from New York, and another from Nebraska demonstrating the techniques.HMB_7746

I learned a lot just being there documenting it all. I had no idea how much chemistry and math was involved in coloring and cutting hair. Listening to these educators talk in great detail, in what seemed like another language, about the color techniques it was amazing to hear how much thought goes into coloring someones hair. They take into consideration what your hair looks like now (color, highlights, tones) and they calculate the formula needed to product the color you desire.Jacksonville NC Family Photography, Jacksonville NC Event Photography, Jacksonville NC Business Photography, aPear Photography, Jacksonville North Carolina, Military Spouse BusinessJacksonville NC Family Photography, Jacksonville NC Event Photography, Jacksonville NC Business Photography, aPear Photography, Jacksonville North Carolina, Military Spouse BusinessJacksonville NC Family Photography, Jacksonville NC Event Photography, Jacksonville NC Business Photography, aPear Photography, Jacksonville North Carolina, Military Spouse BusinessJacksonville NC Family Photography, Jacksonville NC Event Photography, Jacksonville NC Business Photography, aPear Photography, Jacksonville North Carolina, Military Spouse BusinessJacksonville NC Family Photography, Jacksonville NC Event Photography, Jacksonville NC Business Photography, aPear Photography, Jacksonville North Carolina, Military Spouse BusinessJacksonville NC Family Photography, Jacksonville NC Event Photography, Jacksonville NC Business Photography, aPear Photography, Jacksonville North Carolina, Military Spouse Business

I was seriously amazed at the whole process. I mean, I’ve gotten my hair colored plenty of times, but I never really thought about how much care has been put into picking just the right shade of each color to achieve the end result I was wanting.HMB_7823
The Stylists at Bella care about your hair and realize that because everyones hair is different, that one technique won’t just work on everyone! So you may have a similar result as someone else but the process to get it can be completely different.

HMB_7792Getting your hair cut is a unique process as well, since everyone’s hair is a little different, it requires a custom cut to get the style you want. That means so much more than just parting your hair and cutting on it. These stylists take the time to ask how you part and wear your hair on the regular. They get a good idea of what you desire for your cut to look like and then make a custom cut plan for achieving the style on your hair with your features and head shape. I know that’s probably not the technical terms but I’m just the photographer! HMB_7867HMB_7830HMB_7903HMB_7915HMB_7945HMB_7978

Here is the finished Product, both models received a custom cut and color, using techniques from the New Shift Collection from TIGI.

Which explains why I always leave happy after I get my hair done, color is always just what I wanted and my locks are so happy! Which when you have curly hair is a big deal!HMB_7792
